If there is one skill that can be said to hold the key to personal and professional success, it is critical thinking. Simply put, it is a deliberately slow process of thinking that incorporates different points of view or the collective wisdom of different disciplines, eliminating the bias in thinking. This gives a holistic understanding and analysis of any situation or problem and consequently, leads to wise decisions and actions. As such, everybody needs to think critically, both in personal and professional life. Every employer expects an employee to identify the problem on the ground and suggest solutions. In personal life, critical thinking makes for a happier life because you develop clarity about issues, understand multiple perspectives of those around you so that you know how to deal with them. In general, you become an empathetic and likable version of yourself.
Critical thinking is a conscious process of holistic thinking. It does not come naturally to us. That is why most of us are not critical thinkers even though all of us need to be.
The good news is - it can be learnt. How about making a beginning with this module?
